Self-Catered Chalets or Apartments
If you want privacy and the freedom to eat when and where you like, self-catering is your best option. There is a wide selection of accommodation from one room studios to large chalets. Some accommodation is fairly basic; some is part of a complex or attached to hotels with shared facilities; many are traditionally furnished second homes and there are also privately owned chalets or apartments that are beautifully decorated and full of creature comforts.
Advice on self-catering
Check the following before you book:-
Accommodation - some apartments are small with basic kitchen facilities. Check floor area and decide how often you plan to eat in and how many separate rooms you need.
Maid service - is there one and is it daily or weekly? Is it included in the bill or will you have to pay a final cleaning bill?
Beds and linen - will the beds be made on your arrival? Are towels and linen supplied or do you have to bring your own? Are there extra laundry costs?
Deposit - when is it payable? Usually on arrival when you collect keys. Will you be charged tourist tax?
